Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to join our team. This position primarily involves operating a respool machine to consolidate or remove wire for various jobs, along with supporting tasks in the stock room and quality control when needed. The role also includes operating wire braiding machines and extrusion machines to place jackets on wires. Responsibilities • Operate the respool machine to consolidate or remove wire for different jobs. • Operate wire braiding and extrusion machines to apply jackets on wires. • Move rails of wire to the appropriate machines and ensure wires are set according to customer specifications. • Run plain wire through extrusion machines for jacketing, ensuring proper cooling and wrapping. • Perform plastic wrapping to prevent wires from unraveling. • Bundle multiple types of finished wires, align them properly, and ensure they are protected with clear plastic. • Make necessary adjustments to customer orders based on length, order size, or minor specifications. Essential Skills • Experience with extrusion machines and machine operation. • Proficiency in operating machine tools and interpreting blueprints. • Ability to perform general production tasks including loading and unloading. • Basic math skills for adjustments and measurements. • Mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Mechanically inclined with a self-starter attitude. • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. • Experience with hand tools, tape measures, and calipers. Work EnvironmentOur facility is organized and clean, with a team of about 18-25 people and 15-20 on the shop floor. The work environment is independent, with employees focused on their individual tasks. Shifts are from 6am to 2:30pm or 7am to 3:30pm. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bristol, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
