About this role

Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role is responsible for performing both reactive and preventative maintenance on production machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs equipment such as mixers, blenders, packaging and filling machinery, and conveyors, while working with electrical systems up to 480 volts, mechanical components, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.Responsibilities

• Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on all production machinery to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on mixers, blenders, packaging machinery, filling machinery, conveyors, and related equipment. • Work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volts, following proper procedures and best practices. • Use volt meters, blueprints, and schematics to diagnose equipment problems and implement effective repairs. • Carry out welding and fabricating tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and support production operations. • Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, including identifying and resolving leaks, pressure issues, and component failures. • Perform general facilities maintenance as needed to support a clean, organized, and efficient production environment. • Collaborate with other technicians, machine operators, and production staff to coordinate maintenance activities and support continuous improvement. • Participate in equipment upgrades and internal changes to enhance reliability, safety, and throughput. • Train on day shift initially and then transition to assigned shift, maintaining flexibility to support operational needs. • Work overtime, including Saturdays and weekends when required, especially during peak season. Essential Skills

• At least 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. • Strong background in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. • Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts and safely utilizing a volt meter. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for mechanical and electrical systems. • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic machinery, including troubleshooting and maintenance. • Proficiency in general maintenance practices for production equipment and facilities. • Experience in foods manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or liquid packaging environments. • Capability to perform electrical troubleshooting on production machinery. • Ownership of personal tools required to perform maintenance tasks. • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production demands. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PLC experience, including basic understanding of controls and ability to assist with troubleshooting automated systems. • Welding and fabricating skills to support equipment repair and modification. • Experience working on a production floor alongside technicians, machine operators, and laborers. • Comfort working in a clean, organized manufacturing facility undergoing equipment upgrades and process improvements. The environment includes a variety of production machinery such as mixers, blenders, packaging and filling equipment, conveyors, and both pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Candidates will initially train on day shift from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., then transition to a shift running from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Flexibility is required, as overtime is common during peak season, with approximately 50-hour workweeks and occasional Saturday and weekend work. The facility is actively upgrading equipment and making internal changes to improve efficiency, providing exposure to modernized systems and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Manteno, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $73320.00/yr.
