Production Supervisor - Dekalb, IL1st SHIFT - $70K-$90KJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor oversees daily production activities in an industrial manufacturing environment, ensuring that machines and personnel operate at peak efficiency. This role focuses on production planning, team leadership, training and development, troubleshooting operational issues, and performing quality control checks to maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and product quality.Responsibilities

• Plan and organize production to ensure all machines and personnel are maximizing productivity and meeting daily, weekly, and monthly objectives. • Communicate clear production goals and expectations to team members and ensure alignment across the shift. • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing work schedules, and ensuring appropriate staffing for each machine and area. • Identify inefficiencies in production processes and recommend improvements to enhance throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness. • Ensure timely performance reviews are conducted for all production team members and submit accurate reports on performance and progress. • Support and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) to help team members meet performance standards. • Ensure all preventive and emergency repairs to machinery and equipment are completed promptly to minimize downtime. • Maintain a clean and organized production area by promoting and enforcing 5S principles throughout the facility. • Inspect work performed to verify compliance with quality standards and technical specifications. • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance to support a safe and reliable production environment. • Participate actively as a member of the safety committee and attend monthly safety committee meetings. • Conduct training and orientation before new procedures, machines, or products are implemented to ensure team readiness and safety. • Establish and maintain a comprehensive cross-training program so that each machine and area is staffed by qualified team members. • Ensure work performed complies with written procedures and established manufacturing processes. • Promote a culture of continuous process improvement and encourage team members to contribute ideas for enhancing operations. • Monitor production performance, address troubleshooting needs, and make adjustments to keep machines running efficiently and producing quality product. Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 or more years of production supervision experience within an industrial manufacturing environment. • Proven ability to plan production, keep machines running, and produce product efficiently. • Hands-on quality control experience in a manufacturing setting. • Experience with Six Sigma, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing methodologies. • Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving production and machinery issues. • Demonstrated capability in production planning and production management. • Experience managing machine operations and coordinating manufacturing processes. • Background in continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives. • Ability to lead, train, and develop production teams in a fast-paced environment. • High school diploma or trade school education is preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with 5S workplace organization principles. • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, including Green Belt or Black Belt experience. • Experience working in unionized manufacturing environments. • Strong organizational skills for scheduling, assigning work, and managing multiple priorities. • Ability to conduct and document performance reviews and support performance improvement plans. • Comfort with participating in safety committees and contributing to safety initiatives. • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and their application to production operations. • Ability to interpret and enforce written procedures and technical specifications. • Experience in machine management and maintenance scheduling. • Trade school or vocational training in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field is an asset.
