Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator | ENTRY LEVEL | Weekly Pay Job DescriptionThis role focuses on operating and monitoring compounding extrusion machines used to extrude polymer materials in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing environment. You set up and run single-screw extrusion equipment, support packaging activities while machines are running, and maintain a clean and safe work area. The position also offers opportunities to become cross-functional in other areas of production and to work with advanced 3D printing technologies.Responsibilities
• Operate compounding extrusion machines used to extrude polymer materials, ensuring consistent and efficient production. • Set up extrusion equipment, including loading and unloading spools of material from the machines. • Operate single-screw extrusion machines independently and without much direction once trained. • Monitor machine operation during production runs and make basic adjustments to maintain quality and throughput. • Assist packagers with packaging cartridges and materials while machines are still running to keep production flowing. • Handle and move materials, lifting up to 20 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on a periodic basis. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in and around the extrusion and packaging areas. • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including respirator and suit. • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing setting to meet production goals and deadlines. • Collaborate with team members and become cross-functional in other production areas as needed. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of experience in a machine operation role in a manufacturing or production environment. • Hands-on experience operating extrusion machines or similar production equipment. • Ability to operate single-screw extrusion machines with minimal supervision after training. • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform machine set up, including loading and unloading spools of material. • Capability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs periodically as part of daily duties. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, controlled manufacturing environment. • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment, including respirator and protective suit. • Attention to detail to monitor machine performance and support consistent product quality. • Previous experience with extrusion processes or polymer-based manufacturing. • Background in general production, machine operating, or industrial manufacturing. • Willingness to become cross-functional and learn additional tasks in other areas of the facility. • Strong work ethic and ability to work with limited direction once trained. • Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and quality standards. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
