About this role
HOURS PER DAY: 3-5 hours a day DAYS PER YEAR: As needed (May not exceed 585 hours per year) REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to follow written and oral directions and to complete tasks with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with Grant Administrator, District 186 staff, grant partners, other staff, parents, students, and general public.
• Working knowledge of business English and accurate spelling
• Experience with Microsoft Office, with specific strong working knowledge of Word, Excel & Filemaker
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Interest in working with educationally disadvantaged youth
• Ability to interact professionally with representatives from educational and governmental agencies, training agencies, private business and industry
• Ability to maintain files
• Reliable transportation is required
• Background working in grants, with specific knowledge of grant budgets and deliverables preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as Assistant to the Grant Administrator for the R.I.S.E. Program - R3 Grant, providing all support requested for various grant management activities
• Responsible for maintaining the budget, handling expenditures, working with the District Accounting Department, and with staff from ICJIA to get various approvals as needed for expenditures
• Responsible for staff payroll and working with the District 186 Payroll department
• Create and maintain a FileMaker database of students for grant data tracking & reporting purposes
• Ability to interact well with students and assist as needed with student onboarding activities and paperwork
• Assist with running various errands, including assisting with student needs for internships, picking up student and staff time sheets at work sites when needed, and representing District 186 at job sites for paperwork completion purposes when needed
• Other duties as assigned by Grant Administrator
