About this role

HOURS PER DAY: 3 DAYS PER YEAR: 36 days (3 sessions, 12 days each) REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or a retiree from the Trades familiar with the Construction OSHA-10 test

• Ability to work with current computer technology and online software

• Flexible availability in scheduling daytime classes for students interested in the Trades

• Background teaching with a Union trade school preferred but not required

• Experience and interest in working with educationally disadvantaged out-of-school youth

• Ability to work with a wide range of clients

• Ability to follow written and oral directions with minimum supervision

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the mission, vision, goals, and instructional focus of District 186 and the RISE program

• Ability to work in a team-driven environment

• Establish and maintain a classroom climate that is conducive to learning

• Plan, implement, and teach activities to assist students in completing the Construction OSHA-10 utilizing online software programming.

• Use a variety of methods to monitor student learning and assess student progress

• Have materials and supplies available

• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required

• Communicate effectively with students and RISE staff

• Cooperate in carrying out school district rules and regulations

• Be punctual and regular in attendance

• Ability to be flexible and be willing to make adjustments as needed in an ever-changing environment

• Perform other duties as assigned
