Job SummaryYou will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) in the Intelligence Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09/10) grade level or pay band (DS-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Evaluating and analyzing inherent security features of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to ensure the hardware and software security protections are sufficient to safeguard the level of data contained therein; (2) Conducting user training and awareness activities in order to ensure all users of the SCI network are knowledgeable of the required security procedures, along with participating in security status meetings to keep informed of all activities, problems, and issues relevant to SCI network security; (3) Performing a variety of administrative and technical tasks to the network and related equipment such as ensuring network accounts are open, maintained, and closed to protect the network and its information, as well as assisting with construction and maintenance of classified networks, database management, data backups, and data mining; (4) Coordinating with the Special Security Officer (SSO) for handling, storing, disposing of, and marking of classified components, software, and documentation to ensure consistency in implementing Command policy and procedures; and (5) Assisting with documenting all information security technical vulnerabilities and new threats detected in the network, as well as assisting with protective and corrective measures if a security problem is discovered. Major DutiesYou will use enhanced knowledge of information systems design in order to evaluate and recommend alternate design approaches to include functional system, ADP equipment, telecommunications facilities, and security requirements.You will participate in security status meetings to keep informed of all activities, problems, and issues relevant to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) network security.You will coordinate with the Special Security Officer (SSO) for handling, storing, disposing of, and marking classified components, software, and documentation to ensure consistency in implementing Command policy and procedures.You will assist with documenting all Information Security vulnerabilities and new threats detected in the network, as well as assisting with protective and corrective measures if a security problem is discovered.
