Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in tracking and coordinating schedules for industrial production, equipment maintenance, or fabrication operations; 2) utilizing production databases or Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to track inventory, verify material availability, and process standard material orders; and 3) compiling production data or generating routine reports to help senior staff identify schedule delays or material shortages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Major DutiesResponsible for researching materials, validating requirements, validating quantities, ensuring accurate and complete documentation is provided and approved,Monitors numerous production order and material reports to evaluate productivity, efficiency and accuracy in ordering, receiving and consuming (billing customers for costs of materials) parts.Provides reports and advises leadership on process improvements or deficiencies.Reviews requirements established by higher authority, current maintenance schedules, or other pertinent programming documents, classification and stock status reports, typical procedures, and special directives.Acts as a direct communication link to scheduler’s/controllers and work center supervisors for all assigned production areas including Shop Fabrication, Demil, Maintenance and Standard Depot Operations.Using analytical techniques and tools, creates and analyzes various production reports.Determines whether projects are proceeding according to schedule; ascertains causes for delay; provides for corrective action; and makes necessary adjustments to the schedule.Performs other duties as assigned.
