Job Title: Fabrication Welder (MIG/TIG/Flux Core)Job DescriptionJoin a team of professional fabricators where you will manufacture metal parts and products to precise quality standards. You will perform welding on large, complex components using a variety of processes and materials, while consistently working in a safe manner and complying with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines and regulations. You will follow welding procedures and specifications, adhere to quality assurance requirements, and complete all required documentation accurately.Responsibilities
• Manufacture metal parts and products in line with established quality standards and specifications. • Perform welding on large and complex components using flux core, MIG, TIG, and spot welding processes as required. • Work with various types of metals and filler metals, applying appropriate welding parameters, preheat, and interpass temperatures. • Interpret and follow welding procedures, specifications, and work instructions accurately. • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and welding requirements. • Fabricate and fit structural, galvanized, and stainless steel components according to drawings and specifications. • Follow all quality assurance requirements and complete required production and inspection documentation. • Operate safely at all times, complying with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines. • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the fabrication shop. • Collaborate with other fabricators, fitters, and team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Essential Skills
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a custom fabrication environment using FLUX, MIG, spot, or TIG welding processes. • Proficiency in flux core welding. • Experience with MIG welding. • Experience with TIG welding, including TIG welding on various metals. • Experience with spot welding in a fabrication setting. • Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret structural and fabrication drawings. • Fabrication experience with structural steel, galvanized steel, and stainless steel. • Ability to understand and follow welding procedures and specifications. • Knowledge of welding parameters, preheat, and interpass temperatures for different materials. • Ability to follow quality assurance requirements and complete related documentation accurately. • Commitment to working safely and following all health, safety, and environmental guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certification is an asset but not mandatory. • Experience working in a large custom fabrication shop environment. • Background in manufacturing components for construction, nuclear, military, or commercial applications. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work effectively as part of a fabrication team on complex projects. You will work with structural, galvanized, and stainless steel using a variety of welding processes and fabrication equipment. Shifts are scheduled on days or afternoons, offering some flexibility in working hours. Appropriate industrial workwear and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety in the shop environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
