Job Title: Machine CleanerJob DescriptionThe Machine Cleaner plays a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and efficient production operations by performing detailed cleaning and basic upkeep of CNC equipment and surrounding work areas. This position focuses on heavy cleaning tasks, removal of metal scrap, and support of general labor and janitorial duties to ensure equipment runs smoothly after each job. Responsibilities • Clean production equipment thoroughly after jobs are completed to ensure machines remain operational and ready for the next production run. • Perform heavy cleansing tasks on CNC equipment, including removing metal chips and scrap, and changing coolants as required. • Inspect equipment and work areas during cleaning and promptly notify management of any deficiencies, damage, or need for repairs. • Stock and maintain supply rooms, ensuring cleaning materials, tools, and related supplies are organized and readily available. • Carry out general labor and janitorial duties to keep the machine shop and production areas clean, orderly, and safe. • Cooperate closely with production staff, maintenance personnel, and other team members to coordinate cleaning schedules and minimize downtime. • Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures while performing cleaning and labor tasks. • Use appropriate tools, cleaning agents, and methods to safely clean machinery and work areas without causing damage to equipment. • Assist in maintaining clear walkways and workspaces by properly disposing of scrap materials and waste in designated areas. • Support overall shop cleanliness initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of cleaning processes and standards. Essential Skills • Experience performing laborer, machine cleaning, or general production support tasks in an industrial or manufacturing setting. • Hands-on experience with janitorial duties such as cleaning equipment, floors, and work areas in a shop or facility environment. • Ability to safely handle heavy cleansing tasks, including removal of metal chips and scrap from CNC equipment. • Capability to change coolants and perform basic cleaning-related maintenance on production machinery following established procedures. • Strong attention to detail when inspecting equipment and work areas to identify deficiencies or repair needs. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Reliability and punctuality to support first-shift operations and meet production schedules. • Understanding of and adherence to health and safety regulations in a machine shop or industrial environment. • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff and communicate clearly about cleaning needs and equipment issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience in a machine shop or CNC production environment is beneficial. • Background in general labor, janitorial, or general production roles is an advantage. • Comfort working around industrial machinery and understanding basic shop practices. • Ability to organize and maintain supply rooms and inventory of cleaning materials. • Willingness to learn specific cleaning procedures and coolant handling requirements for different machines. • Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a large, approximately 70,000-square-foot machine shop environment that is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The facility operates multiple shifts and employs around 250 people, creating a busy, production-focused atmosphere. The position is available on first shift, working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in a setting that involves regular interaction with CNC equipment, metal scrap, coolants, and general industrial cleaning tasks. Work is performed in standard shop attire appropriate for an industrial environment, with adherence to all safety and protective equipment requirements. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Wales, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
