Job Title: Packaging Operator1st Shift Monday-Friday 5:30am-2:00pm$19/hrJob DescriptionThe Packaging Operator works in a high-volume manufacturing environment to support packaging and production operations for laundry products and vitamin gummies. This role focuses on safely feeding materials into automated equipment, inspecting products and packaging, and maintaining an organized work area while performing frequent lifting and bending. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work scheduled shifts that include weekends.Responsibilities
• Open boxes of product and load plastic bottles into machine hoppers on the laundry packaging line. • Lift full cases of laundry detergent and related products from one pallet and move them to another pallet to build mixed product display pallets. • Perform frequent lifting and bending while handling cases of product, ensuring safe body mechanics and adherence to safety guidelines. • Operate or support automated packaging, filling, and conveyor equipment in both laundry detergent and vitamin gummy production areas. • Inspect products, bottles, and packaging for defects or inconsistencies and remove any nonconforming items from the line. • Perform packaging tasks such as packing, labeling, and preparing finished goods for shipment or storage. • Assist with inventory-related activities, including counting, staging, and tracking materials as needed. • Follow production schedules and instructions to meet output and quality targets on assigned lines. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing debris, broken packaging, or spilled product from the line. • Comply with all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to lockout/tagout and equipment safety rules. • Work effectively as part of a production team, communicating issues such as equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors or leads. • Support both laundry detergent and vitamin gummy manufacturing areas as assigned, adapting to different equipment, processes, and cleanliness requirements. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
