Job Title: 3rd Shift Sanitation TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and machinery in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will safely handle cleaning chemicals, disassemble and reassemble machinery components, and ensure all equipment meets sanitation and quality standards to support continuous production on the 3rd shift. Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize filling, mixing, and packaging machinery according to established procedures and standards. • Disassemble valves, hoses, and flow components to thoroughly scrub and sanitize all parts. • Mix cleaning and sanitizing solutions accurately by following written directions and safety guidelines. • Transport cleaning solutions to and from production lines in a safe and efficient manner. • Reassemble machinery after cleaning and assist with equipment teardowns as needed. • Perform all sanitation tasks required for production equipment and machinery to maintain a hygienic environment. • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation protocols at all times. • Carry out general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and custodial tasks in production and common areas. • Inspect equipment and work areas after cleaning to verify proper sanitation and readiness for production. • Support general production and labor tasks related to equipment cleaning, loading, and sanitation as assigned. • Work consistently on 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights) and maintain reliable attendance. Essential Skills • 2–3 years of sanitation experience in a food, chemical, or pharmaceutical production environment. • Demonstrated experience with industrial cleaning, sanitation, and sanitizing processes. • Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and sanitizing solutions while following safety procedures. • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sanitation standards. • Experience with janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping tasks in an industrial or production setting. • Ability to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and handling equipment components. • Capability to inspect equipment and work areas to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation. • Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. • Experience as an industrial cleaner on production floors or in highly regulated facilities. • Familiarity with highly automated machinery and production equipment. • Ability to assist with general production, general labor, and loading tasks as needed. • Strong attention to detail and adherence to written instructions for mixing and using cleaning solutions. • Comfort working in a smaller facility with a close-knit team across multiple shifts. Work EnvironmentThe role is based on a normal production floor within a temperature-controlled facility. The environment includes cleaner common areas and a well-maintained cafeteria. The operation runs on three shifts, and this position works 3rd shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. The facility is smaller, with around 110 employees, fostering a close, collaborative atmosphere. Machinery is highly automated, and employees can purchase products produced at the facility at discounted rates. Work involves regular use of cleaning chemicals, industrial sanitation tools, and standard custodial equipment in a structured manufacturing setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harvey, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
