Job Title: BatcherJob DescriptionThis role prepares and mixes liquid and dry ingredients according to batch sheets, recipes, and production schedules to support high-volume food production. The batcher accurately measures raw materials, operates mixing equipment, and monitors the batching process to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities • Read and follow batch sheets, recipes, and production schedules to prepare each batch correctly. • Accurately weigh and measure liquid and dry ingredients according to specified formulas and ratios. • Add raw materials into mixing tanks in the proper sequence and quantities based on specifications. • Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and ingredient ratios throughout the batching process and adjust as needed. • Record batch information, ingredient usage, and production data clearly and accurately. • Conduct quality checks throughout the batching process to verify consistency, appearance, and other required parameters. • Transfer finished batches safely and efficiently to filling lines or downstream production areas. • Maintain cleanliness of mixing equipment, tools, and production areas in accordance with sanitation standards. • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and sanitation procedures at all times. • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address any issues with batches, ingredients, or equipment. • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or deviations from standard procedures. • Support general production tasks as needed, including mixing, blending, and compounding activities. Essential Skills • 2+ years of batching experience preferred in a production or manufacturing environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. • Basic math and measurement skills to calculate and verify ingredient weights and volumes. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following batch sheets, recipes, and procedures. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment with tight schedules. • Experience with mixing, batching, blending, or compounding processes in a production setting. • Comfort working with general production and mixing equipment in a food production environment. • Commitment to following GMP, food safety, and sanitation procedures consistently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 2+ years of experience working in a food production environment is a plus. • Bilingual communication skills, especially in Spanish, are an advantage. • Previous experience in general labor roles within manufacturing or food production. • Familiarity with operating mixers, blenders, and batching systems. • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and team members in a fast-paced setting. Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a food production facility that is somewhat colder than typical room temperature to maintain product quality and safety. The workplace is fast-paced and requires standing, lifting, and moving throughout the shift. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (11:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.). Team members frequently communicate in Spanish on the production floor, and every supervisor is bilingual to support clear communication. The environment follows strict GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards, and employees are expected to wear appropriate production and safety attire consistent with a food manufacturing setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Skokie, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
