• 1ST SHIFT • $26-32/HR • CUSTOM MACHINING Job DescriptionThis first-shift CNC Machinist role offers the opportunity to work Monday through Friday in a custom machine build shop, operating a 3-axis Fadal CNC machine supported by Mastercam software. You will produce high-quality components for custom automated equipment by setting up tools, machining a variety of materials, and performing precise adjustments at the control panel. The position focuses on custom machining, close-tolerance work, and rigorous quality verification to ensure every part meets exact specifications.Responsibilities

• Operate a 3-axis Fadal CNC machine to produce precision components for custom automated equipment. • Set up tools, workholding, and fixtures at the machine to support each job and ensure efficient, accurate machining. • Pull and load completed program files into the CNC control and verify correct program selection for each job. • Perform on-the-fly program edits at the control panel to fine-tune machining operations and achieve required dimensions and finishes. • Machine a diverse range of materials, including hardened tool steel, aluminum, and various plastics, while maintaining consistent quality. • Read and interpret blueprints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and specifications for each component. • Conduct meticulous post-machining inspections using micrometers, calipers, and precision gauges to verify parts against blueprints. • Perform in-process quality checks throughout the machining cycle to identify and correct issues early. • Use drill presses and related equipment as needed to support machining and secondary operations. • Troubleshoot machining issues, such as dimensional deviations or surface finish problems, and adjust tooling, offsets, or programs to resolve them. • Execute efficient changeovers between jobs, including tool changes, fixture swaps, and program updates, to minimize downtime. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow established shop practices to support safety and productivity. Essential Skills

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in 3-axis CNC machining. • Proven experience in custom machining for unique or one-off components. • Ability to navigate Mastercam software to locate and manage program files at the machine. • Strong proficiency in operating 3-axis CNC machines, specifically Fadal or similar equipment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features. • Experience performing quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and various precision gauges. • Demonstrated skill in performing on-the-fly program edits at the CNC control panel. • Competence in setting up tools, workholding, and fixtures for a variety of custom jobs. • Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and correct machining issues and dimensional discrepancies. • Experience with changeovers, including tool and fixture changes and program transitions between jobs. • Experience operating drill presses and related shop equipment to support machining operations. • Background in working with hardened tool steel, aluminum, and various plastics. • Familiarity with quality-focused machining practices in a custom build environment. • Comfort working on custom automated equipment components in a low-volume, high-mix setting.
