Job Title: Bakery Associate – Day ShiftJob DescriptionJoin a fast-paced, high-volume bakery production team as a Bakery Associate on the day shift. In this entry-level role, you support the production of baked goods by working on the line, handling packaging and labeling, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. While the position is entry-level, prior experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environments is required. Responsibilities • Assist in the production of baked goods, including packaging, labeling, and staging finished products for distribution. • Follow recipes, batch instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and production schedules to ensure consistency, efficiency, and product quality. • Work with and around bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and packaging lines in a safe and efficient manner. • Perform quality checks on products to verify proper weight, labeling accuracy, and acceptable appearance. • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in accordance with food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards. • Load ingredients, materials, and packaging supplies onto production lines as needed to keep operations running smoothly. • Follow all safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company procedures at all times. • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals and support a team-oriented environment. • Perform repetitive tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and moving products throughout the shift. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, reporting any issues related to safety, quality, or equipment. Essential Skills • 6 months to 1 year of experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or a similar environment. • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-volume production or bakery settings. • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene practices. • Ability to accurately follow instructions, SOPs, recipes, and production schedules. • Experience with packaging, labeling, sanitation, or general production work. • Familiarity with food safety standards and GMP practices. • Reliable work history with strong attendance and a team-oriented mindset. • Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks safely. • Comfort working in varying temperature environments, including warm and cooler areas. • Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and consistency. • Ability to work early morning shifts, overtime, and flexible schedules as needed. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance history. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in bakery, food production, or manufacturing environments preferred. • Experience working around or operating basic production equipment is a plus. • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or other food safety regulations is strongly preferred. • Comfort working in environments similar to bakery or food production settings. • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced production setting. • Experience with cleaning tasks related to production and adherence to sanitation procedures. Work EnvironmentYou work in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery production environment on the production floor, surrounded by continuous machine and line activity. The role involves constant standing, walking, and repetitive movement throughout a 10–12 hour shift. You experience varying temperatures, including warm areas near ovens and cooler storage or staging areas. The workplace is strongly team-oriented, with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and meeting production goals. Strict sanitation and GMP requirements are in place, and you follow detailed food safety and cleanliness standards while working around mixers, ovens, packaging lines, and other production equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
