Job Title: AssemblerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Assembler to join a production team building conveyor systems and related equipment for car wash operations. In this role, you assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand and power tools, follow detailed work instructions and blueprints, and work in a fast-paced, quality-focused manufacturing environment. You handle larger materials, contribute to daily production goals, and collaborate closely with teammates to keep projects on schedule.Responsibilities
• Assemble conveyor systems, frames, rollers, brackets, panels, and related components according to specifications and work instructions. • Use hand and power tools to perform mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently. • Gather and organize parts, hardware, and materials required for assigned assembly projects. • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to complete mechanical and electrical assembly work when needed. • Perform component assembly, including wiring harnesses, panel wiring, and electrical assembly as required by the project. • Inspect completed assemblies to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to established standards. • Move, position, and handle heavier materials and components throughout the production process using appropriate tools and safe lifting practices. • Operate basic production and assembly line equipment and participate in general production and packaging activities as needed. • Measure and verify parts and assemblies using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility guidelines. • Meet daily production goals while balancing speed with quality and attention to detail. • Collaborate with team members and other departments to keep projects on schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Support manufacturing, shipping/receiving, assembly, and testing operations as assigned within the large facility. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly tasks. • Proficient use of hand tools and basic power tools in a production setting. • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. • Ability to follow written work instructions and specifications. • Attention to detail when inspecting assemblies for quality and accuracy. • Ability to safely handle and move larger materials and components. • Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with wiring, wiring harnesses, and electrical assembly is a plus. • Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings is a plus. • Exposure to general production, machine operation, and assembly line work. • Experience with hydraulics and basic electrical concepts in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to work in multiple areas of a large facility, including manufacturing, shipping/receiving, assembly, and testing. • Comfort using measuring tools and basic shop equipment. • Willingness to work contract through at least January, with potential for longer-term opportunities depending on business needs. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime opportunities on Friday. The position begins as a contract role through at least January, with the possibility of extension or transition to a direct role based on business demand, though this is not guaranteed. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans and an appropriate T-shirt, with safety glasses (including side shields) and hearing protection provided. Steel-toed boots are required for safety. The environment is production-focused, using a range of hand and power tools, assembly and testing equipment, and basic measuring tools. The workforce is diverse, with English, Vietnamese, and Spanish commonly spoken on the line, and the culture emphasizes teamwork, safety, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
