Job Title: DeburrerJob DescriptionThe Deburrer works in a production-focused machine shop, deburring and assembling aerospace components on one of the main production lines. You will handle small metal parts, follow clear work instructions, and use provided tools to produce consistent, high-quality parts. The work is repetitive and process-driven, allowing you to master the role quickly and become highly proficient within a short period of time. Responsibilities • Deburr metal aerospace parts using small hand tools and established processes to remove sharp edges and ensure smooth finishes. • Assemble aerospace components according to detailed work instructions, ensuring correct fit and alignment. • Operate within the tumbler/deburring area, including tumbling parts and handling loads of up to approximately 20 pounds on a regular basis. • Work on primary production lines, producing the same parts consistently and maintaining high levels of accuracy and repeatability. • Use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify part dimensions and quality when required. • Read and interpret blueprints and apply basic GD&T concepts to understand part requirements, where applicable. • Follow all shop floor procedures and safety guidelines, including proper handling of chemicals such as acetone used in certain processes. • Maintain a clean and organized personal workbench and deburring area to support efficient workflow. • Inspect parts visually and tactically for burrs, defects, and inconsistencies, and correct issues as needed. • Collaborate with team members and support related operations such as assembly, paint, CNC machining, or quality as opportunities arise. Essential Skills • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery in a production environment. • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus, consistency, and attention to detail. • Strong detail orientation with the ability to identify and remove burrs, sharp edges, and minor defects from metal parts. • Comfort working around chemical smells associated with products dipped in substances such as acetone. • Ability to lift and handle parts and materials weighing up to approximately 20 pounds on a regular basis. • Basic familiarity with hand tools used for deburring and assembly work. • Willingness to follow structured work instructions and standardized processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience deburring metal parts, particularly in aerospace or medical manufacturing environments. • Experience in assembly of mechanical or aerospace components. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. • Exposure to CNC machining environments or interest in learning CNC operations. • Interest in cross-training in areas such as job shop deburring, paint, CNC machining, or quality. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a medium-sized machine shop with approximately 38 employees and plans to grow to about 50 over the next few years. The facility is relatively clean but can feel a bit crowded due to large CNC machines, while the deburring and assembly area is set apart and tucked away, providing a dedicated workbench and personal workspace. You will work around aerospace components that are generally small (around 12 inches and 3 pounds) and occasionally handle heavier loads up to about 20 pounds, particularly in the tumbler area. The environment includes exposure to chemical smells from products dipped in substances like acetone, managed within established safety procedures. The shop culture supports listening to music at your station, and flexible hours contribute to a balanced and accommodating work setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Long Lake, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
