About this role

Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThis role focuses on the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Working on 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you help maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused facility while supporting daily distribution and housekeeping activities. Responsibilities • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in the warehouse, consistently supporting and adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures. • Operate all on-site material handling equipment safely, including forklifts, floor sweepers, and scrubbers. • Empty trash cans and recycling containers as needed and monitor compliance with the facility-wide recycling program. • Manage corrugated materials safely, including the operation of all bailing equipment. • Assist with general housekeeping throughout the warehouse, including spill clean-up and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. • Check and maintain adequate water levels in the batteries of all material handling equipment. • Support housekeeping requirements during equipment preventative maintenance activities. • Maintain the Distribution Housekeeping Log according to the Distribution Housekeeping Standard Operating Procedure, signing and dating the log when tasks are completed. • Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly housekeeping assignments in accordance with the Distribution Housekeeping Log. • Assist with training and certification programs for material handling and housekeeping processes as needed. • Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse and distribution operations. Essential Skills • Six (6) months to one (1) year of work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the knowledge and abilities needed to perform the job. • Six (6) months of stand-up forklift experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment preferred. • Hands-on experience with material handling tasks such as picking and cleaning. • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. • Capability to follow safety policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions accurately. • Basic familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment. • Experience using floor sweepers, scrubbers, and bailing equipment. • Comfort with performing routine housekeeping and spill clean-up tasks. • Attention to detail when completing logs and documentation. • Ability to participate in and support training and certification programs. • Strong awareness of recycling practices and facility housekeeping standards. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a fast-paced warehouse setting on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You work around material handling equipment such as stand-up forklifts, floor sweepers, scrubbers, and bailing machines. The environment emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and recycling, with regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly cleaning and documentation requirements. You may perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and working in areas where spills and debris must be cleaned promptly to maintain a safe and orderly facility. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of York, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
