About this role

Job Title: Forklift Operator / Material HandlerJob DescriptionThis role involves safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to prepare, move, and ship fireplaces, stoves, hearth products, and related parts. You will handle inventory, pick and pull parts, load freight, and support efficient warehouse operations using RF scanners and other industrial equipment. Responsibilities • Prepare and ship fireplaces, stoves, hearth products, and related materials according to shipping documents and schedules. • Pick and pull parts accurately from inventory to fulfill orders and production needs. • Load freight into trailers safely and efficiently, following all safety and load securement procedures. • Open crates and packages carefully to prevent damage to products and materials. • Operate forklifts and other industrial material handling equipment in a safe and controlled manner. • Use RF scanners to track inventory movement, verify orders, and maintain accurate records. • Apply shrink wrap and use shrink wrap machines to secure pallets and loads for transport. • Support packing, shipping, and receiving activities as needed to keep warehouse operations running smoothly. • Follow all warehouse safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and equipment guidelines. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and shipping goals. Essential Skills • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment; 6+ months of forklift experience is preferred. • Hands-on experience with material handling tasks such as picking, packing, shipping, and receiving. • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking, order picking, and verification. • Comfort working with industrial material handling equipment, including forklifts and shrink wrap machines. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipping. • Ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment in a safe manner. • Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift. • Reliability and flexibility to work overtime and stay until work is completed when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience as a forklift operator, material handler, or in a warehouse setting. • Familiarity with inventory processes, including counting, organizing, and tracking stock. • Experience loading and unloading trailers and securing freight. • Comfort working with scanners and basic warehouse technology. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Work EnvironmentThis is a first-shift position with core hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The scheduled lunch break is from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM and is unpaid. Flexibility is important, as you may be asked to stay until the work is completed, which could be as late as 6:30 PM, with notice provided when possible. Overtime is offered as needed, typically as an extended shift. The work takes place in a warehouse setting using forklifts, RF scanners, shrink wrap machines, and other industrial material handling equipment, with a focus on safety and efficient material flow. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kutztown, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
