About this role

Job Title: Plumbing and Fire Protection AssemblerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on assembling and installing plumbing and specialty fire protection systems on custom fire trucks. You will use hand and power tools to install piping, valves, gauges, and related components, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently while meeting production goals and quality standards.Responsibilities

• Install heat exchangers and associated valves when not already installed. • Install master drains and primer controls on fire truck systems. • Install manual pump shift mechanisms to support pump operation. • Install discharge lines on right and left rear locations and front bumpers. • Install bleeder drains to ensure proper system drainage. • Connect lines to gauge panels and verify accurate functionality. • Perform self-checks on all completed work to ensure quality and safety. • Meet established production goals while maintaining high workmanship standards. • Cut and thread pipes using pipe cutters, cutting torches, and pipe threading machines. • Bend pipes to required angles using a pipe bending machine or by hand. • Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulked joints. • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and piping systems according to specifications. • Fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to check for leaks. • Interpret and follow blueprints and assembly documentation as needed. • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively throughout the assembly process. Essential Skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in plumbing and mechanical assembly. • Plumbing experience, preferably in fire protection, drainage, boiler, or water system installation. • Ability to cut and thread pipes using cutting tools, pipe cutters, cutting torches, and threading machines. • Ability to bend pipes accurately using a pipe bending machine or by hand. • Experience assembling and installing valves, pipe fittings, and PVC pipe systems. • Ability to join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk. • Capability to fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to identify leaks. • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with gauges and water system components. • Ability to read and follow blueprints and technical instructions. • Strong work ethic with a motivated, hardworking, and team-oriented mindset. • Consistent attendance and demonstrated reliability and longevity in prior roles. • Readiness to work in a production environment and meet daily goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing fire protection systems is a plus. • Experience in drainage, boiler, or water system installation is beneficial. • Familiarity with mechanical assemblies and gauge installations. • Comfort working with PVC pipe and various cutting tools. • Ability to work effectively on both day and night shifts if needed. • Willingness to work voluntary overtime when available. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a small team. Standard hours for the day shift are 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with a four-day workweek and opportunities for voluntary overtime. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration while working around mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $41600.00/yr.
