Job Title: Maintenance Technician IJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician I ensures the efficient and reliable operation of high-speed and complex processing and packaging equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, identifying problems, maintaining, testing, installing, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs on all processing and packaging systems, including associated support equipment.Responsibilities
• Perform skilled journey-level electrical work to install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and commercial kitchen equipment. • Maintain and repair controls and complex equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, robotics, motors, pumps, conveying systems, and cooking equipment. • Troubleshoot malfunctioning components of processing and packaging equipment to restore reliable operation. • Diagnose complex issues related to HVAC systems under general supervision. • Repair and maintain heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems, including disassembling, assembling, and installing components. • Test, adjust, and calibrate mechanical and electrical control systems associated with HVAC equipment. • Complete maintenance records, work orders, and task documentation accurately and on time. • Conduct routine facility tours and safety checks to identify and address issues proactively. • Operate company-owned equipment, machinery, power tools, and testing equipment safely and in accordance with all applicable safety regulations. • Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by management. Essential Skills
• At least 2 years of journey-level experience in electrical and heating equipment maintenance. • Completion of an apprentice-level electrical and mechanical training program plus 2 years of progressive experience as an electrician preferred. • Experience working with industrial-type electrical systems and commercial kitchen equipment. • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for motors, controls, and complex equipment. • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repair, installation, and preventive maintenance. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and manufacturers’ maintenance manuals. • Proficiency in performing Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedures safely and consistently. • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. • Ability to systematically diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using effective troubleshooting methods. • Capability to climb ladders and extension ladders up to 35 feet. • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds with assistance. • Ability to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods. • Comfort working on 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). Additional Skills & Qualifications
• HVAC Journeyman’s License preferred. • Experience testing, adjusting, and calibrating HVAC control systems. • Familiarity with blueprints and electrical schematics. • Experience working with robotics, pumps, motors, and conveying systems. • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for processing and packaging equipment. • Ability to operate testing equipment and power tools safely and effectively. The work takes place in a production facility that includes cold and damp refrigerated areas as well as hot zones near heated equipment. The position requires regular use of company-owned machinery, power tools, and testing equipment while adhering strictly to safety procedures, including Lockout Tag Out (LOTO). Technicians frequently work at heights using ladders and extension ladders and may need to lift, carry, bend, and stoop for extended periods in physically demanding conditions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Herndon, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
