Job Title: TIG WelderJob DescriptionThis position involves primarily stainless-steel fabrication, straightening, and welding using gas and electric welding equipment. You will also engage in the fabrication of carbon-steel and exotic metals. Responsibilities • Perform TIG welding on 7-gauge and 5/8th plate, and occasionally laser weld thin gauge materials (16-18 gauge at minimum). • Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for jobs, and plan details of working procedures, tools, and material requirements. • Adhere to technical documentation, design specifications, and welding procedure specifications documents. • Perform fabrication by cutting, burning, straightening, and welding various metals. • Read, understand, and execute work according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and other pertinent welding documents. • Organize and perform record-keeping tasks such as weld mapping on complex weldments to maintain traceability of materials. • Use calibrated precision measuring instruments, including a Faro Arm, to ensure fabrication tolerances are met. • Identify and recommend product and process improvements. • Utilize basic MRP system knowledge for daily usage. • Complete quality verifications, weld records, and other build records as required. Essential Skills • Proficiency with TIG Welding (GTAW) and GMAW (MIG/FCAW). • Minimum of five years of welding experience or demonstrated equivalent experience through passing certification tests. • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings for proper applications of tolerances, fit, and process control. • Experience with stainless steel fabrication, blueprint reading, and mechanical processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 5-6 years of experience in a fabrication position. • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Teams and Faro Arm. • Grinding, polishing, and metal finishing skills. • Documentation and paperwork proficiency. • May substitute two years of experience for an Associate of Arts degree or one year for an accredited trade or vocational welding certificate. Work EnvironmentWork within the Applied Technologies division, specializing in the engineering and fabrication of stainless steel gloveboxes for the nuclear industry. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, equipment, vibration, and potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals. There is a risk of electrical shock and other hazards associated with manufacturing. Duties may require work in high, precarious places, outdoor conditions, or extreme temperatures. The noise level is often loud, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Spokane Valley, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79497.60/yr.
