About this role

Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic 1st and 3rd shift open currently. Job DescriptionThe Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in efficiently and effectively providing maintenance support to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. This position ensures a safe and clean work environment and offers technical expertise to support daily operations, aiming for significant improvements in production-related objectives.Responsibilities

• Actively engage with departmental projects, tasks, and objectives. • Manage configuration and versions of programmable devices, hardware, and systems including PLCs, vision camera systems, barcode scanners, intelligent sensors, PC-based machine control systems, and SCADA level systems. • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance repairs on various electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and building systems. • Assist with setup and operator activities, installation, and setup of new equipment. • Troubleshoot breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high voltage electrical systems independently. • Work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions. • Diagnose and repair CNC equipment, including control systems of numerically controlled machines. • Conduct operational tests and repair equipment by disassembling components, replacing faulty parts, reassembling, and adjusting equipment. • Adhere strictly to safety procedures and critical facility work rules, including proper chemical handling procedures, local codes, cooling systems, and chillers. • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment. • Complete required safety program objectives and training. • Participate actively in cost reduction and continuous improvement programs. • Maintain high ethical standards and personal and intellectual integrity, with mature judgment and effective communication at all organizational levels. Essential Skills

• Experience with electrical, mechanical, and PLC troubleshooting. • High School Diploma or GED, with 24-36 months of trade school or equivalent experience preferred. • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with operators, Team Leads, and Engineers. • Work independently with high quality and reliability. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to use a PC and email. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills. • Ability to lift 50 pounds manually and repetitively. The workplace is not temperature controlled but offers a supportive and dynamic atmosphere. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
