General Laborer/Assembler: 1st Shift: 6:00am-4:30pm (Monday-Thursday)$18.50/hrJob DescriptionThe Assembler works on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and is responsible for assembling company products to standard production rates while maintaining high quality and accuracy. This role requires careful adherence to written work instructions, proper documentation of quality checks, and precise use of shop floor data collection devices. The Assembler interprets mechanical drawings to build equipment, uses personal hand and power tools as needed in the assembly process, and supports the broader production team by performing additional tasks as assigned.Responsibilities
• Assemble company products at or above the standard production rate while maintaining quality and safety standards. • Follow written work instructions carefully and complete all required quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner. • Accurately post production and material transactions using shop floor data collection devices. • Interpret and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams to correctly assemble products and equipment. • Use personal hand and power tools to assist in the assembly process as needed. • Support general production, assembly, and paint preparation activities as required. • Perform general labor tasks related to production, construction, landscaping, or material handling when needed. • Assist with powder coating and paint prep work as required by the production schedule. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled facility. • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe use of tools and equipment. • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution. • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations and meet production goals. The work is primarily performed on the production floor, where employees regularly stand, walk, use their hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate with team members. The position occasionally requires climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete certain assembly tasks. Employees must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds, following proper safety and ergonomic practices. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed to meet production demands. Work involves the use of hand and power tools, shop floor data collection devices, and equipment related to assembly, painting, and powder coating, all within a structured, safety-focused environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandusky, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
