Electrical Test Technician Location: Berkeley, CAJob Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of advanced electrical and energy storage products. This hands-on role involves building, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical test systems used to evaluate circuit boards, battery components, and system-level hardware. The ideal candidate has strong experience with electrical wiring, harness fabrication, soldering, and prototype testing in a laboratory or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
• Assemble and wire industrial control panels according to established electrical standards. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical drawings. • Fabricate wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnects for prototypes and test systems. • Perform crimping, routing, labeling, continuity testing, and quality inspections. • Assemble, repair, and rework printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), including through-hole and surface-mount components. • Conduct soldering, rework, and inspection using microscopes and specialized tools. • Support prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation activities with engineering teams. • Build and maintain electrical test fixtures, load boxes, custom wiring assemblies, and validation equipment. • Install instrumentation, sensors, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and safety devices. • Assist with setup and execution of electrical testing activities. • Organize, inspect, and maintain test systems and electrical subassemblies. • Troubleshoot and commission completed test infrastructure to verify functionality and performance. • Document testing results, observations, and performance data. • Recommend process improvements and documentation updates. Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician, Engineering Technician, Test Technician, Panel Builder, or similar role. • Strong experience with: • Electrical wiring and troubleshooting • Cable and wire harness fabrication • Control panel assembly • PCBA assembly and rework
• Proficiency with soldering techniques, including surface-mount and through-hole components. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. • Experience using electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and continuity testers. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with industrial control panels and electrical testing systems. • Knowledge of electrical standards and compliance requirements. • Experience troubleshooting high-voltage electrical systems. • Experience supporting prototype development, product testing, or engineering validation activities. • Experience with root cause analysis, issue tracking, and corrective action documentation. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
