Job Title: Production AssociateJob DescriptionThis role supports mattress production and shipping by performing hands-on tasks such as foam encasement assembly and trailer loading. You will work as part of a fast-paced team to build and move mattresses, follow detailed instructions, and maintain high safety and quality standards. The position offers cross-training in multiple production areas and the opportunity to grow into leadership roles over time.Responsibilities
• Layer foam inside wooden mattress box frames in a specific order to build complete mattress units, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Follow written and verbal instructions closely to meet production standards and daily output goals. • Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a smooth production flow. • Lift and move materials and mattresses weighing up to 75 pounds in production and up to 100 pounds in shipping, using team lifting for heavier items. • Load fully built mattresses of various sizes (twin, full, queen, and larger sizes) into trailers for shipment in the shipping department. • Maintain a strong work ethic by staying on task and completing work without constant supervision. • Remain flexible to overtime as needed and be willing to be cross-trained and work in different sections of production based on daily demand. • Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to work on time and staying until the job is completed for the day. • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a warehouse environment. • Support general production and general labor activities, including basic assembly tasks and material handling as needed. Essential Skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds in production and up to 100 pounds in shipping, with team lifting for heavier items. • Experience or comfort with general production, general labor, and assembly work in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. • Strong ability to follow directions accurately and consistently. • Reliability and strong work ethic, including the ability to stay until the job is done. • Ability to work well with a team and collaborate to meet production goals. • Self-motivation to complete tasks without constant supervision. • Willingness to be cross-trained and work in different departments depending on daily needs. • Safety-oriented mindset and adherence to warehouse safety procedures. • Previous experience in production or warehouse environments is highly beneficial. • Experience in general labor or assembly work is an advantage. • Comfort working in a physically demanding role that involves frequent lifting and movement. • Positive, cooperative attitude toward cross-training and taking on varied tasks. • Ability to adapt to changing start times based on business needs. • Strong references that reflect teamwork, reliability, and self-motivation. The day shift for foam encasement production typically runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the expectation that you stay until the job is completed, and start times may be earlier depending on business needs. The shipping position generally runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The warehouse can feel a bit chilly due to multiple bay doors bringing in outside air, so appropriate attire for cooler conditions is recommended. You will work around large quantities of mattresses and materials, and you are expected to follow safety procedures closely while remaining productive and engaged, even when supervisors or leads are not directly present.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
