This role handles both CNC and manual saws, monitors operations for defects, performs basic maintenance, and supports a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.Responsibilities

• Set up cutting machines and programs according to job specifications, ensuring correct parameters and configurations for each work order. • Position materials accurately and set stops and guides to achieve precise cuts and meet dimensional requirements. • Operate a variety of cutting machines, including CNC and manual band saws, circular saws, and cold saws, in a safe and efficient manner. • Monitor machine operations continuously to identify defects, malfunctions, or irregularities and take corrective action as needed. • Measure parts using tape measures and other measuring tools to verify accuracy and adherence to blueprints and specifications. • Deburr and clean work pieces by removing sharp edges, rust, and scale to prepare materials for subsequent fabrication processes. • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic adjustments, to keep equipment in proper working condition. • Use overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment to move and unload materials safely and efficiently. • Mark and identify materials clearly to ensure proper tracking, storage, and use in production. • Follow 5S practices to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area. • Adhere to all safety and security procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with OSHA standards. • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate cutting machines such as CNC and manual band saws, circular saws, and cold saws. • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine cutting requirements and part specifications. • Proficiency in using tape measures and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances. • Experience with saw cutting and fabrication processes, including deburring and cleaning of work pieces. • Comfort with operating overhead cranes and heavy equipment for material movement. • Understanding of 5S principles and commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient workspace. • Knowledge of basic machine maintenance procedures to support equipment reliability. • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Experience in machine operating or fabrication. • Background in manufacturing, production, or industrial shop environments involving machining, fabrication, or assembly operations. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on setting while meeting production targets and quality standards. • Strong attention to detail and quality, with a focus on producing accurate, defect-free parts. • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to collaborate across functions and support continuous improvement. • Comfort with physically active work, including standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift. • Willingness to learn additional fabrication equipment and processes to expand skills and grow within the department. Work is fast-paced and hands-on, supporting production activities under OSHA standards with required personal protective equipment. The position is physically active, involving standing, lifting, and moving materials, and may include working in non-climate-controlled shop areas with heat in the summer. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38000.00 - $43500.00/yr.
