Job Title: Warehouse WorkerJob DescriptionThe primary role of a warehouse worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring that operations run smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer. • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers. • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required. • 5-7 years of experience required. • Willing to work a flexible shift. • Willing and able to stand at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation. • Willing and able to perform tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation. • Willing and able to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
