Job Title: Inventory SpecialistJob DescriptionThe Inventory Specialist maintains accurate control of all materials used in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) production environment. This role ensures timely and precise picking of work orders, accurate execution of stock movements, and strict adherence to inventory control procedures. The Inventory Specialist supports production readiness, prevents material shortages, and upholds compliance with company, customer, and industry standards.Responsibilities
• Accurately pick and stage materials for production jobs according to bills of materials (BOM) and current revision requirements. • Perform all inventory transfers, issues, returns, and adjustments in the ERP system, ensuring that physical stock movements match system records. • Conduct scheduled cycle counts, investigate and reconcile discrepancies, and support corrective actions to maintain high inventory accuracy. • Monitor moisture-sensitive devices, track expiration dates, and ensure materials are stored in appropriate environmental conditions. • Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled inventory locations in accordance with 5S principles and safety standards. • Proactively identify potential material shortages and communicate them promptly to planning and purchasing teams. • Support shipping and receiving activities by assisting with incoming and outgoing parts, including labeling, verification, documentation, and stocking of materials as needed. • Handle material movement and storage to support a high-mix, low-volume electronics manufacturing environment. • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available and properly controlled. • Perform other inventory-related tasks and support additional warehouse or logistics activities as needed. Essential Skills
• Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and cycle counting in a production or warehouse environment. • Hands-on experience with material handling, stock movements, and work order picking. • ERP system familiarity, including inventory modules such as Syteline, SAP, Epicor, or equivalent, with the ability to perform basic transactions like part lookup, stock movements, and work-order material issues. • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Excel. • Knowledge of electronic components, part numbering systems, and handling requirements within an electronics manufacturing or EMS environment. • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills to maintain precise inventory records. • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production, planning, purchasing, and customer service teams. • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods during the shift. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical, logistics, or supply chain training is preferred. • Experience in an EMS, electronics manufacturing, or similar high-mix, low-volume production environment. • Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-610, and relevant industry regulations. • Experience supporting shipping and receiving functions, including labeling, verification, documentation, and stocking. • Experience in supply chain, purchasing support, or customer service within a manufacturing environment. • Comfort using Excel for basic reporting, tracking, and inventory analysis. • Familiarity with 5S practices and continuous improvement principles in a warehouse or production setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
