About this role

Job Title: Production Operator – Rubber ManufacturingJob DescriptionThis role supports a rubber manufacturing facility by operating production equipment, preparing and mixing materials, and ensuring consistent quality of rubber lining for tanks and tankers. You will work across multiple production lines, follow detailed mixing schedules, document nonconformances, and maintain a safe, clean work area while supporting both day and night shift operations. Responsibilities • Operate and oversee various production lines, including grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, and hoists. • Complete daily tasks in a facility that manufactures rubber lining for tanks and tankers, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met. • Follow detailed mixing schedules and measurements to prepare materials accurately and consistently. • Use scan guns to track materials in and out of the facility, maintaining accurate inventory and production records. • Load silos with the proper ingredients in accordance with established procedures and specifications. • Document any nonconformances and discarded parts, ensuring issues are recorded and communicated for corrective action. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times to support efficient operations and safety compliance. • Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures and work safely at all times. • Train initially on the day shift and transition to the night shift as required. • Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent production quality. Essential Skills • Ability to work safely at all times and strictly follow all safety policies and procedures. • Capability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. • Ability to read measurements accurately and perform basic calculations. • Willingness and ability to train on the day shift before moving to the night shift. • Comfort working in a production environment with equipment such as grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, and hoists. • Basic familiarity with production processes and material handling. • Strong attention to detail for following mixing schedules, measurements, and documentation requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous mixing or compounding experience is a plus but not required. • Previous forklift experience is a plus but not required. • Previous experience using an ERP system is a plus but not required. • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial. • Comfort using scan guns or similar barcode scanning equipment is an advantage. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a smaller manufacturing facility with approximately 30 team members across both shifts and a small night-shift crew. The environment is non-climate controlled and can become hot in the summer, but the facility is well-ventilated to help maintain workable conditions. The workplace culture is described as laid back while maintaining a strong focus on safety and a solid safety record. Team members use production equipment such as grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, hoists, silos, and scan guns, and may interact with ERP systems. The position requires working on both day and night shifts, with initial training on days before transitioning to nights. A video tour is available to provide a visual overview of the facility layout and operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seville, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.53 - $24.03/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
