Job Title: Package InspectorJob DescriptionThe Package Inspector ensures that all packaged products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role focuses on inspecting packaging for defects, verifying labeling accuracy, and documenting inspection results while working closely with packaging and production teams in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
• Inspect packaged products for defects, damage, or labeling errors to ensure they meet quality standards. • Verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and packaging specifications on all products. • Ensure products comply with applicable quality and regulatory requirements. • Document inspection results accurately and report any issues or nonconformances promptly. • Work closely with packaging and production teams to maintain consistent quality standards on all lines. • Submit Maintenance Work Order (MWO) requests when equipment issues or irregularities are identified. • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness within all packaging areas, including cleanroom environments where applicable. • Inspect product label information on the packaging line and ensure correct placement and legibility. • Place products into boxes, stack boxes on pallets, and organize finished goods as required. • Operate a tape machine or similar equipment to seal boxes when needed. • Follow directions from leads and supervisors to meet production and quality goals. • Develop and practice strong safety awareness while working with packaging equipment and materials. • Use common sense and follow detailed written and verbal instructions to perform tasks accurately. • Collaborate effectively with team members while also working independently when required. • Take responsibility for the workstation, including equipment checks, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures. • Support smooth operation of the packaging line, including working on different lines with varying speeds. • Consistently arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance to support production schedules. Essential Skills
• Experience in packaging and inspection within a production or manufacturing environment. • Hands-on experience working in clean room or cleanroom environments and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). • Ability to perform labeling, fill orders, palletize, and stacking tasks safely and efficiently. • Ability to follow directions from leads and supervisors accurately. • Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices. • Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. • Physical ability to stand, walk, carry, climb, twist, bend, grip, and reach regularly during the shift. • Ability to operate and understand machine controls relevant to packaging and inspection tasks. • Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Ability to use common sense and follow detailed written or spoken instructions. • Demonstrated respect for others and ability to work cooperatively. • Consistent and reliable attendance. • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and also work well independently. • 3 years of experience as a Machine Operator or in operator maintenance roles. • Proven ability to take responsibility for a workstation and maintain high standards of quality and organization. • Experience working on multiple packaging lines with varying speeds. • Familiarity with cleanroom procedures and GMP documentation practices. • Experience operating tape machines or other packaging equipment for sealing boxes • Strong team player mindset with a focus on cooperation and mutual support. • Comfort working in environments where roles may also be known as inspector or similar titles. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jurupa Valley, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
