Job Title: Production SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor leads overnight manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role focuses on supervising and developing production employees, overseeing equipment performance, and driving continuous improvement across filling, blending, and packaging lines. The supervisor works closely with maintenance, engineering, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, optimize line efficiency, and support new products and process enhancements while maintaining strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Responsibilities • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop production employees to build technical capability, improve performance, and strengthen team engagement. • Set clear expectations for performance and behavior, and hold team members accountable to foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Lead daily production operations on the overnight shift to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer service goals are consistently achieved. • Provide hands-on technical support and work directly with operators and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot production and equipment issues involving liquid filling, aerosol filling, blending, mixing, propellant systems, conveyors, labeling, capping, crimping, leak detection, and packaging equipment. • Coordinate closely with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting, preventive maintenance planning, and equipment improvements. • Monitor production performance, analyze line efficiency, and identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize equipment utilization. • Lead equipment startups, product changeovers, and line clearances while ensuring adherence to GMP and quality standards. • Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance and prevent recurrence. • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA/GMP, environmental, and internal company safety requirements at all times. • Utilize production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements and clearly communicate expectations to the team. • Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, equipment installations, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Develop and maintain a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, and professional growth. Essential Skills • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in troubleshooting equipment and production issues on the manufacturing floor. • Working knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and PLC-controlled systems. • Hands-on experience leading product changeovers, improving line efficiencies, and supporting preventive maintenance initiatives. • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop production employees. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey expectations, provide feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Effective coaching and conflict resolution skills to manage and resolve issues within the production team. • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using production metrics and KPIs to drive operational performance. • Familiarity with OSHA and FDA/GMP requirements and commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a production supervision or manufacturing leadership role. • Background in production, supervision, and machine operation in a manufacturing setting. • Experience with maintenance repairs and troubleshooting machines on high-speed or automated lines. • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. • Comfort working with filling, blending, and packaging equipment, including conveyors and automated systems. • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and performance. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing facility and operates on an overnight shift schedule of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., following a rotation of four days on and four days off. The work environment involves hands-on oversight of production lines, including liquid filling, aerosol filling, blending, mixing, propellant systems, conveyors, labeling, capping, crimping, leak detection, and packaging equipment. Team members work around automated and PLC-controlled systems and collaborate closely with operators, maintenance technicians, and engineering staff. The facility operates under OSHA, FDA/GMP, and environmental requirements, emphasizing safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards throughout all production activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of St. Louis, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $84000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
