About this role

Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role offers an opportunity for an experienced MIG welder to perform production welding, fabrication, and finishing on various metal products within a fast paced manufacturing facility. You will work on a first-shift schedule and contribute to the fabrication and repair of metal and steel products, using a variety of welding processes, tools, and equipment while upholding high quality and safety standards.Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding using the GMAW process to stitch weld and fully weld components and assemblies in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. • Fabricate and finish steel storage and shipping containers, including new fabrication and repair work, as containers move through multiple production departments on an automated conveyor system. • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and other measuring tools. • Read and interpret basic prints and blueprints, as well as use tape measures and other measuring devices, to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. • Use basic hand tools and power tools such as grinders, shears, hammers, punches, drills, and other common welding trade tools to prepare and finish workpieces. • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power welding tools, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, in accordance with job requirements. • Lay out and measure dimensions and reference lines on materials, such as roofing panels, according to drawings or templates using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers. • Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets to fabricate or alter parts as needed. • Fasten seams and joints with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and other bonding methods to assemble products or repair sheet metal components. • Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand and portable power tools to achieve required finish quality. • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded to complete electrical circuits safely and effectively. • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts in place to prepare assemblies for final welding or finishing. • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding, as required by the job. • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area in the production welding environment. Essential Skills

• Approximately 5 years of hands-on MIG welding experience in a production or similar environment. • Proficiency in MIG welding using the GMAW process, including the ability to weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. • Ability to pass an AWS 4G welding test. • Ability to read and work directly from basic prints and blueprints. • Strong ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. • Experience in steel fabrication and structural welding. • Skill in using basic hand tools and power tools such as grinders, shears, hammers, punches, and drills. • Capability to lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and related tools. • Ability to monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. • Experience recognizing, setting up, and operating shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. • Competence in drilling and punching holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets to fabricate or alter parts. • Ability to fasten seams and joints using welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and other bonding methods. • Skill in trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts. • Ability to safely ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs to complete welding circuits. • Experience operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of oxy/acetylene and plasma cutter operation. • Experience working with roofing panels or similar sheet metal materials. • Ability to lay out and measure dimensions and reference lines on materials using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers. • Experience clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, grinding, or bolting component parts for assembly. • Familiarity with production welding environments and automated conveyor systems. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and finished products. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively within a production team. • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled production environment while maintaining safety and productivity. The facility is described as clean, well lit, and safe, providing a comfortable setting even though it is non-climate-controlled. Work is performed on a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, supporting a consistent and predictable workweek. You will work with a range of manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and common welding tools. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cinnaminson, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
