Aerotek is seeking Wiring Technicians: Job DescriptionThe Wiring Technician assembles, inspects, and supports the production of complex electrical cable assemblies and control wiring. This role involves manually pulling orders, selecting appropriate cables and materials, and operating wire harness equipment, with a transition to using digital tools such as an iPad for automated processes. The technician ensures that all assemblies meet quality, reliability, and safety standards in a dynamic production environment.Responsibilities
• Pull orders accurately and prepare materials required for wiring and cable assembly tasks. • Lift, handle, and organize cables and related components safely and efficiently. • Select and prepare appropriate wire types, harnesses, and materials based on job specifications. • Build complex electrical cable assemblies according to drawings, schematics, or work instructions. • Use harness assembly tools and equipment to create and route wire harnesses and control wiring. • Inspect cable assemblies and wiring for quality, accuracy, and reliability, identifying and correcting any defects. • Operate wire harness equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner. • Support production activities related to wiring, control panels, and electrical assembly work. • Perform the job manually at first and later transition to using an iPad or similar device for automated or digital work processes. • Follow all safety requirements, including wearing steel-toe footwear and adhering to facility rules such as not bringing personal tools. • Adapt to working in both outdoor/non–climate-controlled and climate-controlled areas as required. • Work full-time hours with flexibility for overtime and potential 12-hour shifts as production needs arise. Essential Skills
• Proven experience working with wire harness assembly. • Hands-on experience with control wiring and control panel-related tasks. • Ability to operate wire harness tools and equipment safely and effectively. • Background in wiring, electrical assembly, or production environments. • Capability to build, inspect, and verify the reliability of complex electrical cable assemblies. • Physical ability to lift cables, pull orders, and work on your feet for extended periods. • Comfort working in both manual and digital workflows, including transitioning to using an iPad for job tasks. • Willingness and ability to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a typical 40–50 hour workweek and openness to 12-hour shifts when needed. • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment focused on wiring or electrical assemblies. • Familiarity with working on projects for industrial or manufacturing clients. • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse workplace, including environments where Spanish is commonly spoken. • Strong attention to detail and quality when assembling and inspecting cable and wiring components. • Reliability and flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and schedules. Technicians work in both outdoor/non–climate-controlled and climate-controlled areas and must be open to moving between different environments as needed. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a typical workload of 40–50 hours per week and the possibility of 12-hour shifts during peak demand. Steel-toe footwear is required, and employees receive an allowance for this when hired directly. Personal tools are not permitted, and all necessary tools and equipment are provided on site. The role involves hands-on use of harness assembly tools and will increasingly incorporate digital tools such as an iPad to support automated workflows. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX 77041. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
