Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician supports reliable operation of production and packaging equipment by troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work with computers and robotics, and a commitment to completing preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and support continuous production. Responsibilities • Operate, repair, and perform general maintenance on equipment within the assigned area to ensure safe and efficient performance. • Complete all assigned preventive maintenance tasks accurately and on schedule to reduce unplanned downtime. • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a timely manner to restore equipment to service. • Assist production teams with equipment-related needs, providing hands-on support to keep lines running efficiently. • Train and support production staff on basic equipment operation and care to promote proper use and reduce breakdowns. • Respond quickly to machine breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and communicate status updates to relevant team members. • Work safely with 480V electrical systems, following all safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements. • Perform limited PLC troubleshooting as needed, without engaging in programming activities. • Use computer-based maintenance systems, including CMMS and Maintenance Connections Software, to document work orders, record maintenance activities, and track equipment history. • Utilize basic Microsoft tools such as Excel and Word to update logs, reports, and maintenance documentation. • Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production personnel to identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend improvements. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, parts, and equipment are stored properly. • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures while working in the facility. Essential Skills • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics. • Hands-on experience performing maintenance and repairs on industrial or manufacturing equipment. • Ability to work with 480V electrical systems safely and effectively. • Familiarity with PLC systems, with the ability to perform limited troubleshooting (no programming required). • Proficiency using computers to support maintenance activities. • Experience using CMMS software to manage work orders and maintenance records. • Ability to work with robotics and automated systems, or strong aptitude and willingness to learn. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting. • High School Diploma or GED. • Ability to work the assigned shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Technical degree or certification from a trade or technical school (such as TCAT or similar trades program) is preferred. • Previous experience with Maintenance Connections Software or similar maintenance management systems. • Prior robotics experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production or packaging setting. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams. • Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a large packaging and distribution facility that employs approximately 600 people, ramping up to around 1,000 employees during the peak season from October through December. The facility is expansive and not temperature controlled, so it can become hot during the summer months. The work involves supporting production operations in an industrial setting with automated equipment, robotics, and computer-based maintenance systems. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM, and you will work on-site during these hours to support equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
