Job Title: Quality InspectorJob DescriptionThe Quality Inspector supports manufacturing operations by inspecting incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. This role relies heavily on precision measurement, blueprint interpretation, and thorough documentation to verify product quality and support mission-critical applications in defense, marine, and industrial markets. The Quality Inspector prepares detailed inspection reports, maintains quality records, and collaborates closely with Production and Engineering teams to uphold high quality standards in a modern manufacturing environment.Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials from suppliers to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. • Perform in-process inspections throughout production to ensure parts and assemblies meet engineering and quality standards at each stage. • Conduct final inspections on finished products prior to release to customers, confirming all dimensional and visual requirements are satisfied. • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and document results in accordance with internal, customer, and applicable industry standards. • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, tape measures, optical comparators, and scales to perform accurate dimensional inspections. • Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, engineering prints, GD&T callouts, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications to determine product acceptance. • Record inspection results clearly and accurately, generating inspection reports and maintaining complete quality documentation and records. • Create and maintain nonconformance (NCR) documentation, ensuring traceability and proper recordkeeping for quality issues. • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities by providing detailed inspection data and participating in problem-solving efforts. • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel to communicate inspection findings and support timely resolution of quality issues. • Operate within an ISO 9001 and AS9100-oriented quality system environment, following established procedures and documentation requirements. • Use ERP/MRP systems and other digital tools to enter inspection results, track work orders, and maintain accurate quality records. • Support inspections in composite manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, and assembly areas as needed. • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process control. • Prioritize inspection activities independently to meet production schedules while maintaining thorough and accurate inspection practices. • Handle manufactured parts and raw materials safely and carefully to prevent damage and maintain product integrity. • Adhere to all quality, safety, and compliance procedures while working around active manufacturing operations. Essential Skills

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. • Approximately 2+ years of quality inspection experience preferred in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, tape measures, optical comparators, and scales. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, engineering prints, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications. • Understanding of GD&T principles sufficient to evaluate part features and tolerances. • Experience performing mechanical inspection of incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products. • Ability to prepare clear and accurate inspection reports and maintain organized quality records. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement, documentation, and recordkeeping. • Excellent written documentation skills for inspection reports, NCRs, and quality records. • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment such as machining, metal fabrication, composites, precision manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defense, medical device, or similar industries. • Dependable and reliable work habits with consistent follow-through on assigned tasks. • Organized and detail-oriented approach to managing multiple inspections and priorities. • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work independently and meet deadlines. • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams. • Technical school education or related technical training. • Experience interpreting GD&T in more advanced or complex applications. • Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems. • Hands-on experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI). • Involvement in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.. Physically, the role requires standing for extended periods, periodically lifting parts and materials, and performing repetitive measurement and inspection activities while working around active manufacturing operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stoughton, MA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
