Job Title: Production TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Production Technician operates production tooling and equipment to meet established production and quality standards in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining equipment integrity, supporting quality systems, and ensuring accurate documentation while working collaboratively across shifts. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.Responsibilities
• Operate production tooling and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and quality goals and standards. • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the Business Operating System by identifying and reporting situations that do not meet quality system requirements. • Maintain the integrity and proper functioning of tooling and equipment required to perform assigned work. • Identify, disposition, and move suspect assemblies or components to non-conforming or assembly rework areas as required. • Work in a manner that promotes teamwork and cooperation among fellow workers across all shifts. • Communicate effectively with direct supervision regarding job performance, production issues, quality concerns, and shift-to-shift handoffs. • Accurately complete all paperwork associated with job assignments, including production and quality documentation. • Document all activities as required by company procedures and quality standards. Essential Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Good written communication skills to complete paperwork and documentation accurately. • Strong basic mathematical skills for production counts and quality measurements. • Effective verbal communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members across all shifts. • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a production environment. • Ability to obtain and maintain color and/or appearance testing approval where applicable. • Familiarity with quality specifications and documentation in an automotive environment is a plus. • Ability to safely perform 50-pound lifting on a regular basis. • Ability to stand for 8 hours or more during the workday. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Automotive industry experience is highly desirable. • Familiarity with production systems and departmental processes in a manufacturing environment. • Exposure to preventive, corrective, and nonconformance management processes. • Ability to participate in and apply internal training, including orientation, company vision and culture, departmental training, production system training, and quality mission statement. • Comfort working in a clean but non-climate-controlled environment with industrial fans. • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and additional responsibilities as assigned. The standard shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the expectation that employees remain open to working until 7:00 p.m. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.35 - $16.35/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
