Journeyman Electrician - Detroit, MI
• Direct Hire Position • $43.11 Per Hour • Competitive Company Benefits Job DescriptionThis role focuses on performing service work and repairs on facility equipment in a large industrial environment. You will troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, interpret schematics and blueprints, and complete repairs and installations in both rooftop and interior areas of the facility while working safely and efficiently.Responsibilities
• Perform service work and repairs on facility equipment in an industrial plant environment. • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using schematics, blueprints, and other technical documentation. • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. • Run, bend, and install conduit to support new and existing electrical installations. • Pull, terminate, and organize wiring in accordance with electrical codes and facility standards. • Use lifts and climb ladders to access rooftops and elevated work areas safely. • Work on rooftops and within the facility to complete electrical service and repair tasks. • Ensure all electrical work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with other trades and facility personnel to minimize downtime and support production operations. • Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and troubleshooting steps. Essential Skills
• Journeyman Electrician experience with a valid journeyman license or card (UAW or state card-carrying credentials). • Proven experience performing electrical installations and repairs in commercial or industrial environments. • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and facility equipment. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints. • Hands-on experience with conduit installation, including running and bending conduit. • Experience pulling and routing electrical wire in industrial or commercial settings. • Demonstrated capability to perform electrical service work and repairs safely and efficiently. • Comfort working at heights, including on rooftops and elevated platforms using ladders and lifts. • Experience working in large industrial plants or manufacturing facilities. • Familiarity with electrical service work on production or facility equipment. • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures. • Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment. You will work both inside the facility and on rooftops, frequently using ladders and lifts to access equipment at various heights. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with heavy industrial equipment and complex electrical systems. Work is performed in a union setting with defined shifts and shift premiums for second and third shifts. You should expect to wear appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment suitable for an electrical and manufacturing environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $89668.80 - $89668.80/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
