Job Title: Mobile HVAC Service TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Mobile HVAC Service Technician provides comprehensive preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for commercial HVAC and building systems across multiple properties within an assigned territory. This role combines hands-on technical work with independent field service, requiring strong expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems, along with a high level of professionalism and customer service. You will travel between commercial sites, manage your own workload using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building infrastructure.Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repair services on commercial HVAC systems, including packaged units, air handlers, chillers, and associated equipment. • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, building automation controls, and fire/life safety systems. • Execute assigned work orders using CMMS technology with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed and parts used. • Conduct regular facility inspections and due diligence assessments, reporting conditions that may impact operations, safety, or equipment performance. • Travel to multiple commercial client locations within the assigned geographic territory using a company vehicle, adhering to safety and driving standards. • Plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments independently across multiple sites to meet service level expectations and deadlines. • Identify and recommend energy savings opportunities through system optimization, equipment adjustments, and operational improvements. • Maintain professional relationships with clients and communicate effectively with property management teams regarding work status, findings, and recommendations. • Perform building envelope maintenance and interior/exterior repairs, including basic grounds maintenance and parking lot systems as needed. • Operate and maintain production equipment and other facility-related systems as they pertain to assigned properties. • Stay current with various building systems, equipment, and emerging technologies, and apply new knowledge to improve service quality. • Respond to on-call duties and participate in an on-call rotation approximately every three weeks, supporting emergency and after-hours service needs. • Work overtime as required by business needs, including occasional evenings or weekends. • Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment when working at heights, in mechanical rooms, or in adverse conditions. • Complete all required documentation, reports, and technical records in a clear and timely manner, including digital and written communication. Essential Skills
• High school diploma or GED. • Minimum of 4 years of technical experience in commercial building engineering, with a strong experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. • Universal EPA/CFC certification. • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Solid knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design, operation, and applications in commercial environments. • Demonstrated experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on chillers and other commercial HVAC equipment. • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform frequent climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and overhead work. • Ability to work safely at heights up to 30 feet using proper safety equipment and ladders. • Capability to climb ladders while carrying a tool bag up to 20 pounds. • Comfort working in extreme temperatures and adverse environmental conditions, including mechanical rooms and outdoor areas. • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across HVAC, electrical, and building systems. • Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical meters, and diagnostic equipment. • Experience using CMMS technology to receive, complete, and document work orders. • Strong English language skills, including the ability to understand and produce technical documentation. • Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and digital formats. • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Customer service orientation with a professional demeanor and respectful client interaction. • Adaptability to changing priorities, emergency situations, and varying site conditions. • Technical training or trade school degree in HVAC, building maintenance, or a related field is preferred. • Commercial experience with HVAC systems, including chillers and building-wide climate control. • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) for monitoring and controlling HVAC and related equipment. • Previous experience working in a commercial facilities service environment or field service role. • Familiarity with overall building systems, including fire/life safety, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building envelope maintenance. • Strong digital literacy for using mobile devices, CMMS platforms, and electronic communication tools. • Ability to perform grounds maintenance and basic parking lot system upkeep when required. • Demonstrated ability to study and maintain proficiency with new building technologies and equipment. • Reliability and accountability in managing an assigned territory and company vehicle. The work involves frequent travel between sites using a company vehicle and extended periods of driving. On-site tasks include working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and exterior areas, often in extreme temperatures or adverse weather conditions. You will regularly climb ladders and work at heights up to 30 feet, perform bending, lifting, kneeling, and overhead work, and handle tools and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. The environment is hands-on and tool-intensive, requiring the use of hand and power tools, electrical meters, diagnostic equipment, and building automation and CMMS technologies. Appropriate safety gear and practical work attire are expected to ensure safe and efficient performance of duties in a variety of commercial facility settings. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Boca Raton, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
