Job Title: AssemblerJob DescriptionThis role involves working on a fast-paced assembly line that produces glass panel doors with blinds sealed inside for residential use. You will rotate through multiple stations each hour, learn a variety of tasks, and use power tools to assemble components as they move down the line. The position offers structured training, a supportive team environment, and consistent daytime hours from 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities • Work on an assembly line that produces glass panel doors with integrated blinds for residential applications. • Rotate between multiple assembly stations every hour and quickly become comfortable performing each station’s tasks. • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble components while the product moves along the line. • At Station 1, prepare the blinds by organizing, aligning, and readying them for installation between the glass panels. • At Station 2, prepare and clean glass panels while wearing required protective gear such as a hair net, ensuring each panel is free of dust and debris. • Handle lightweight glass panels (approximately 2 pounds) repeatedly throughout the day, including frequent lifting, twisting, and positioning on the line. • At Station 3, work with a partner to align and seal two glass panels together using suction cups to ensure proper placement before sending them through the oven on the conveyor belt. • Monitor the sealing process as the glass travels through the oven, verifying that panels remain properly aligned on the conveyor. • At Station 4, remove glass panels from the oven, inspect them to ensure they are fully sealed, and push them down the line for further processing. • Handle heavier glass panels (approximately 20 pounds) after they exit the oven, using controlled twisting and pushing motions to move them safely along the line. • At Station 5, continue to move glass panels down the line and perform detailed cleaning to maintain a high-quality finish. • At Station 6, test the operation of the integrated blinds to confirm they function correctly and meet quality standards. • Follow all production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout each step of the assembly process. • Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or defects observed during assembly or testing. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment, to support efficient production. • Participate in training and cross-training to learn new stations, improve skills, and support the opening of new production lines. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed. • Comfort working on an assembly line with hourly rotation between different stations. • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely in a production environment. • Experience or comfort with general production, assembly, or mechanical tasks. • Capability to perform frequent lifting, twisting, and pushing motions throughout the shift. • Strong attention to detail when cleaning, aligning, and sealing glass panels and blinds. • Willingness to train, learn new tasks, and adapt to different stations on the line. • Consistently positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. • Reliability in following safety procedures and production guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in assembly line work, general labor, or general production. • Experience with mechanical assembly or machine operation in a manufacturing setting. • Familiarity with mechanical processes and basic troubleshooting on the line. • Comfort working with glass, blinds, or similar materials in a production environment. • Openness to cross-training and supporting new production lines as they are launched. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a very large, clean manufacturing facility focused on assembling glass panel doors with integrated blinds. You work a day shift from 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with training starting at a manageable pace of two new hires per week to support a new production line. The work is described as not heavy or difficult overall, though it involves frequent lifting, twisting, and pushing of glass panels, including handling items up to approximately 20 pounds on the line and lifting up to 50 pounds when required. You regularly use hand tools and power tools, work at multiple stations, and may wear items such as hair nets when handling and cleaning glass. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures while maintaining a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zeeland, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
