Job Title: General Laborer – 2nd ShiftJob DescriptionThis 2nd shift general labor role focuses on performing detailed quality inspections on door hardware components produced by machines in a small production facility. You will visually inspect parts, take precise measurements, accurately count items, and document inspection results to ensure all products meet established quality standards. The position involves hands-on work on the production floor, supporting both inspection and general labor tasks in a structured, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities • Perform thorough visual quality inspections on door hardware pieces produced by machines to verify that products meet established standards. • Use measuring tools, including a tape measure and other basic hand tools, to confirm product dimensions and specifications. • Accurately count parts and record quantities in logs or on required documentation to support production and inventory accuracy. • Document inspection findings clearly and legibly according to established procedures and quality control requirements. • Identify, separate, and properly handle defective or nonconforming parts based on defined inspection criteria. • Support general production tasks such as assembly, loading, and handling of hardware components as needed. • Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively while performing production and inspection tasks. • Lift up to 49 lbs independently and participate in team lifts for items weighing 50 lbs or more, following safe lifting practices. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient production and inspection activities. • Follow all safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and quality control processes while working on the production floor. • Sit or stand for extended periods while performing repetitive inspection, measuring, counting, and documentation tasks. • Work collaboratively with production and inspection team members to meet quality, output, and schedule goals. • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding quality issues, production concerns, or process improvements. Essential Skills • Experience performing general labor or production work in a manufacturing or similar environment. • Ability to use a tape measure accurately for basic and precise measurements. • Basic quality control skills, including visual inspection and measuring of parts. • Strong attention to detail to identify defects, verify measurements, and ensure accurate counts. • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks on the production floor. • Capability to complete basic documentation and record inspection results clearly and legibly. • Ability to lift up to 49 lbs independently and participate in team lifts for items weighing 50 lbs or more. • Comfort using basic hand tools and power tools safely in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience as a production worker or inspector in a hardware, manufacturing, or construction setting. • Background in carpentry, assembly, or general construction work that involves measuring and working with hand tools. • Experience in general labor, production, assembly, loading, or general production tasks. • Comfort working in a small, close-knit team environment with a strong focus on quality and consistency. • Reliability and consistency in following established procedures, safety rules, and quality standards. • Ability to use measuring tools confidently and accurately in a fast-paced, task-focused setting. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a small hardware production facility with a team of approximately nine people. Work is performed on-site in a production and inspection area, involving extended periods of sitting or standing while inspecting, measuring, counting, and documenting door hardware pieces. The facility operates on a 2nd shift schedule, and the environment is structured, task-focused, and collaborative. You will regularly use tape measures, basic hand tools, and power tools, and handle materials that require safe lifting practices. The workspace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality procedures, with a practical, production-oriented dress code suitable for a manufacturing floor. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
