Job Title: Production Helper / PackagerJob DescriptionThis role supports a high-volume plastic extrusion and packaging operation that produces food packaging for well-known brands. You will work on a production line, primarily at the end of the machines, packing finished trays into boxes and preparing them for material handlers. This position offers a strong opportunity to learn the full production process and grow into more advanced machine operation responsibilities for individuals who bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.Responsibilities
• Work at the end of production lines to pack plastic trays and packaging products into boxes in an accurate and efficient manner. • Prepare packed boxes for material handlers by properly closing, labeling, and staging them for the next step in the process. • Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications before packing. • Sort products as needed to meet quality standards and remove any defective or nonconforming items. • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all site procedures to maintain a clean and safe production area. • Complete required documentation and sign off on jobs to verify that packing and inspection steps are finished correctly. • Work consistently on your feet for the duration of the shift, including standing, walking, and light lifting as needed. • Lift and move boxes and materials weighing up to 10 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. • Collaborate with team members and leads to maintain steady production flow and communicate any issues or concerns. • Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time, following instructions, and staying engaged throughout the full shift. • Show interest in learning how the machines and production process work, with the potential to train on equipment over time. Essential Skills
• At least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per day. • Ability to safely lift and handle items weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis. • Comfort working in a hot environment and in a facility that is not temperature controlled. • Comfort working in a production setting with repetitive tasks and consistent workflows. • Attention to detail for visual inspection, sorting, and packing of products. • Reliability and willingness to work a shift schedule that includes afternoon and evening hours (4:00 pm–2:30 am). • Ability to follow safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices, and standard operating procedures. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Zurich, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
