Job Title: Industrial Maintrenance Technician (Entry-Level Industrial Maintenance)Job DescriptionThe Mechanical & Robotics Technician (Entry-Level Industrial Maintenance) supports a high-volume distribution facility by learning to install, maintain, and repair material handling and automated equipment. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who want to develop skills in troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance, and basic electrical work while contributing to safe and reliable operations. You will receive hands-on training, work alongside experienced technicians, and gradually take on more complex tasks as your technical capabilities grow.Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and consistently modeling safe work behaviors. • Perform basic scheduled preventive maintenance on material handling equipment and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime. • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on conveyors, motors, belts, sensors, and related components. • Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated conveyor systems, packaging equipment, and other distribution technologies. • Learn and perform predictive maintenance tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians. • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities. • Help track and organize spare parts, tools, and materials to support efficient maintenance operations. • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and maintain production flow. • Receive mentoring from experienced technicians and apply best practices in safe work methods and equipment care. • Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, and electrical schematics with support as needed. • Apply introductory electrical and electronic principles to troubleshoot basic input/output functions. • Follow Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and internal guidelines. • Participate in small projects and continuous improvement activities as assigned. • Safely use hand tools and power tools for repairs, adjustments, and basic fabrication tasks. • Assist with simple metal or wood fabrication tasks to support equipment installation or repair. • Lift and move parts and tools up to 49 pounds and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and standing. • Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 12 hours, on concrete or similar surfaces. • Travel up to 20% as needed to support maintenance activities at other locations. • Work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations. Essential Skills

• Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field. • 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment. • 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. • 1+ years of metal and wood fabrication experience. • 1+ years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics. • At least 1 year of knowledge and practical application of electrical and electronic principles. • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety guidelines. • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance. • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions. • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. • Capability to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and pneumatic systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Project management experience, including participation in small projects and continuous improvement initiatives. • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial or distribution environment. • Familiarity with material handling and distribution technologies such as conveyors and packaging equipment. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution or industrial setting. • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills when recording work in a CMMS. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional operations and maintenance teams. • Willingness to learn advanced troubleshooting techniques and expand technical skills over time. You will regularly perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking throughout your shift. The position requires lifting parts and tools that weigh on average 20 pounds and occasionally up to 49 pounds. You will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment, often requiring dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedal operation, manual handling (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and repetitive wrist motion. Working conditions may include small or confined spaces, exposure to dust, fumes, odors, hot and cold temperatures, and both indoor and outdoor environments. You may encounter noise, vibration, wet or uneven surfaces, and extended periods of standing or walking on concrete. The schedule requires flexibility, including the ability to work different shifts, areas, weekends, nights, and holidays to meet operational needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Slidell, LA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.70 - $26.70/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
