Job Title: Security TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on installing and supporting low-voltage security systems in commercial and data center environments. You will work hands-on with access control, CCTV, and related infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable operation of critical facilities. Responsibilities • Install magnetic locks as part of access control systems in commercial and data center environments. • Install and configure card readers and other access control hardware according to project specifications. • Install CCTV cameras, including mounting, aiming, and securing devices in appropriate locations. • Pull and terminate Cat5 and Cat6 cabling to support access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. • Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings to determine device locations, cable routes, and installation requirements. • Perform repetitive installation tasks using hand and power tools while maintaining accuracy and quality. • Assist with the integration of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems. • Support the installation and setup of security platforms such as Lenel and S2 under guidance, where applicable. • Verify proper operation of installed devices and systems and troubleshoot basic issues as needed. • Follow safety procedures and site protocols while working on commercial and data center jobsites. • Document work performed, including cable runs, device locations, and terminations, as required by the project. Essential Skills • Approximately 2 years of low-voltage or security experience. • Hands-on experience installing and working with magnetic locks. • Hands-on experience installing and working with card readers and access control hardware. • Hands-on experience installing and working with security cameras and CCTV systems. • Ability to pull and terminate Cat5 and Cat6 cabling. • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints. • Experience using hand and power tools for repetitive installation work. • Experience with access control systems. • Experience with CCTV systems. • Experience with security integration, including low-voltage and electrical aspects. • Familiarity with burglar alarm and intrusion systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in commercial and data center jobsites. • Exposure to security integration platforms such as Lenel and S2. • Experience with wire pulling in structured cabling environments. • Familiarity with data center security requirements and practices. • Ability to follow detailed installation standards and project specifications. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Work EnvironmentYou will work primarily in a data center environment located in New Carlisle, focused on secure, high-availability infrastructure. The setting is a commercial jobsite where you will spend most of your time on your feet, moving between equipment rooms, racks, and device locations. The work involves regular use of hand and power tools, as well as handling and routing network cabling such as Cat5 and Cat6. You will operate in a structured, procedure-driven environment that emphasizes safety, security, and adherence to site protocols. Work is organized by technician levels, with teams that include entry-level and more experienced technicians. The dress code typically reflects a professional jobsite standard suitable for a data center and construction-like environment, including appropriate workwear and safety gear as required by site policies. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New Carlisle, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
