Job Title: 1st Shift Brake Press Operator | $19-$23/hr | Canton Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Machine Operator for the 1st shift in Canton, OH. This role involves setting up and operating press and brake machines to bend, notch, punch, form, roll, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes. The operator will read blueprints to obtain precise specifications and perform precision measurements as required.Responsibilities
• Set up and align components • Fasten clamp bar using setscrews or bolts to secure dies in position. • Adjust screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies according to the thickness of metal. • Lay out or detail layout on work stock based on blueprints or templates. • Set stops on machine bed and reposition stock for successive pieces or multiple operations. • Measure dimensions of work-piece, perform first piece and random inspection of production. Skills
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and making precise measurements. • Experience with mechanical machine operations, specifically Brake Press, CNC, or Turret Press is a PLUS • Familiarity with mechanical troubleshooting, and experience in sheet metal fabrication. • Ability to use tools such as micrometers, calipers, and hand tools. • Mechanical aptitude and experience in a job shop or metal fabrication environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
