Job Title: Packaging Line WorkerJob DescriptionThis temporary first-shift role focuses on reviewing returned packaging materials in a clean, climate-controlled, food-grade manufacturing environment. You will perform structured, repetitive inspection tasks, document your work, and support overall quality standards. The position offers 40 hours per week with the opportunity for unlimited voluntary overtime, and strong performers who demonstrate reliability and a positive attitude may be considered for permanent production opportunities.Responsibilities
• Review pallets of returned packaging materials and carton stock for quality and usability. • Unfold and inspect boxes carefully to identify quality concerns, defects, or damage. • Perform visual quality checks in accordance with established project guidelines and standards. • Complete simple written documentation to record products reviewed and time spent on each task. • Move efficiently between inspection assignments while consistently maintaining quality expectations. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. • Follow all food-grade manufacturing, hygiene, and safety requirements at all times. • Support general production activities such as sorting, picking, packing, and general packaging tasks as needed. • Use basic material handling tools, such as pallet jacks, to move packaging materials when required. • Stand and walk throughout the shift while performing light-duty, repetitive tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, production, quality inspection, or packaging environments is helpful but not required. • Familiarity with packaging line operations or high-speed packaging and manufacturing environments is a plus. • Experience with sorting, picking, packing, and general production tasks is beneficial. • Comfort using pallet jacks or similar basic material handling equipment. • Experience in foodservice or food-related production environments is an advantage. • Ability to adapt to different inspection assignments while maintaining quality and productivity. The environment follows strict hygiene and safety standards, including the requirement to wear hair nets at all times and beard nets for employees with facial hair. No jewelry or facial piercings are permitted on the production floor to maintain product safety and cleanliness. Work is light-duty with minimal physical demands, but it does require standing and walking throughout the shift. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing 40 hours per week, with the option for voluntary overtime of up to 12 hours per day and up to 6 days per week. The facility operates a structured production setting with packaging lines, general production equipment, and basic material handling tools such as pallet jacks. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.43 - $22.43/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
