About this role

Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThis role is responsible for receiving, processing, storing, and shipping inventory in alignment with system orders. The Forklift Operator safely loads and unloads trucks and sea containers, organizes incoming stock, and ensures all orders are shipped in full and on time. The position requires hands-on experience operating forklifts in warehouse and production settings to transport materials efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities • Receive, process, and store inventory according to orders and system requirements. • Load and unload trucks and sea containers using a forklift and other appropriate tools. • Organize incoming stock and maintain orderly storage areas to support efficient operations. • Ensure all customer and internal orders are prepared and shipped in full and on schedule. • Accommodate and carefully handle fragile merchandise to prevent damage. • Track and document exact shipment quantities, conditions, and arrival and departure times. • Report any missing, extra, or damaged merchandise promptly to the appropriate personnel. • Prepare all orders for shipment and internal transfers, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Record and manage hold, aged, and damaged merchandise items in accordance with procedures. • Operate merchandise management tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely and efficiently. • Enter data accurately into inventory and logistics software programs to maintain up-to-date records. • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet daily productivity and quality targets. • Follow safety guidelines and warehouse protocols to maintain a secure work environment. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a forklift driver, preferably in a warehouse setting. • Proven experience in forklift operation, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials safely. • Hands-on experience maneuvering forklifts in warehouse and production environments. • Basic computer skills for data entry and use of inventory and logistics software. • Previous warehouse experience, including handling and organizing stock. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. • Ability to work in freezer environments with temperatures between 40–55 degrees Fahrenheit. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve operational goals. • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. • Proficient written and verbal communication skills for documentation and coordination. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Comfort using pallet jacks and other warehouse material handling equipment. • Attention to detail when tracking shipment quantities, conditions, and timing. • Reliability and consistency in following warehouse processes and safety procedures. • Willingness to work on second or third shift as required by operational needs. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a warehouse and production environment that includes freezer areas with temperatures ranging from 40–55 degrees Fahrenheit. You will regularly operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and use inventory and logistics software. The role is available on second shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.) and third shift (10:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m.), with third shift currently the most urgent need. Work involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, moving materials, and spending extended periods on your feet in a fast-paced setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
