About this role

Job Title: CNC ProgrammerJob DescriptionThe CNC Programmer creates and maintains NC programs for CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts that meet specifications while minimizing cycle time. This role supports production by developing new programs, updating existing ones, and performing basic upkeep of programs stored in machine controls and on server drives. The CNC Programmer collaborates with the team and production leads to help ensure schedules are met and gains exposure to more complex programming tasks over time.Responsibilities

• Create NC programs for CNC mills and lathes to produce parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. • Develop, test, and refine new CNC programs and modify existing programs to improve performance, accuracy, and efficiency. • Perform basic upkeep, corrections, and updates to programs stored in CNC machine controls and on server drive storage. • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements and appropriate programming strategies. • Set up CNC machines in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and program requirements. • Adjust machine cutting paths, feeds, speeds, and other settings to optimize production while maintaining required quality. • Evaluate tools, cutting rates, and machining strategies required for different materials and program machines accordingly. • Support the general programming and maintenance of computer numerical controlled production equipment as needed. • Work closely with team members and leads to help ensure production schedules and deadlines are met. • Gain exposure to and assist with more complex programming tasks under occasional direction from staff. Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with CNC programming for mills and lathes. • Proficiency using Mastercam software for creating and modifying CNC programs. • Proficiency using SolidWorks, including SolidWorks HSM, for modeling and toolpath generation. • Ability to create new CNC programs and modify existing programs to improve performance. • Experience programming and supporting Haas CNC machines (mills and lathes). • Experience programming and supporting Okuma CNC machines (mills and lathes). • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. • Ability to optimize cutting paths, feeds, and speeds while maintaining part quality. • Strong understanding of tools, cutting rates, and machining strategies for various materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in Mastercam is highly beneficial. • Formal training or coursework in SolidWorks and SolidWorks HSM is advantageous. • Experience working in a standard machine shop environment. • Familiarity with general maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC production equipment. • Comfort working on projects of limited complexity while learning more advanced tasks under guidance. The environment includes typical machine shop conditions, with active production equipment and a focus on safe, efficient operation. Work hours follow standard shop schedules, supporting ongoing production needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Apple Valley, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $73000.00 - $93000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
