About this role

Job Title: Press Brake OperatorJob DescriptionThis role supports the Form Operator team by assisting with the setup and operation of heavy machinery used to bend, shape, and cut sheet metal. You will work closely with experienced operators to handle materials at the press brake, verify part quality, and contribute to overall shop operations and production support. Responsibilities • Provide hands-on support to the Form Operator team as they set up and run heavy machinery to bend, shape, and cut sheet metal. • Work alongside experienced team members to assist with daily production tasks and maintain consistent workflow. • Support material handling at the press brake, including staging, loading, and unloading sheet metal parts. • Perform team lifts and lift assists as needed, lifting up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance. • Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions and angles meet specifications. • Verify that formed parts meet quality standards and specified angles before moving them to the next production step. • Assist with general shop operations, including maintaining a clean and organized work area. • Provide production support as needed, including operating related equipment such as shears, brake presses, punch presses, and CNC press brakes under guidance. • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working around heavy machinery and material handling equipment. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of experience using tape measures and calipers for accurate measurement. • At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing environment. • Ability to lift 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance. • Experience with quality inspection of manufactured parts. • Basic blueprint reading skills to understand part specifications and requirements. • Familiarity with sheet metal handling and forming processes. • Experience operating or assisting with equipment such as press brakes, punch presses, shears, and CNC press brakes. • Ability to use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments. • Exposure to manufacturing environments, with metal manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Press brake experience is preferred but not required; candidates with related machine operation experience are encouraged to apply. • Prior exposure to metal fabrication or sheet metal production environments. • Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with a focus on accuracy and quality. • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes under the guidance of experienced supervisors and team members. • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate closely with other operators and production staff. Work EnvironmentThis position operates on a third-shift schedule, working Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. You will work in a manufacturing shop environment around heavy machinery such as press brakes, shears, punch presses, and CNC press brakes, as well as material handling equipment. The role involves regular lifting and team lifting of metal materials and parts, and requires consistent adherence to safety procedures in an active production setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Seguin, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
