Job Title: Mixer / ScalerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on accurately mixing, scaling, and batching ingredients in a manufacturing environment to support consistent, high-quality production. You will work from written instructions to measure large quantities of product into smaller batches, repackage materials, and, once proficient, operate mixing machines. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid math skills, and the ability to work efficiently on a production line while maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities • Follow written instructions and batch formulas to measure large quantities of product into precise smaller batches. • Repackage bulk materials into smaller containers according to production requirements and labeling standards. • Read and interpret mixing instructions and add the correct amount of ingredients to create batter and other mixtures. • Maintain accuracy in scaling and batching to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications. • Operate or assist with mixing machines once trained and demonstrate safe and efficient use of equipment. • Lift and move materials weighing 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift while following safe lifting practices. • Work collaboratively with a mixing/scaling team of 10+ people to meet production goals and timelines. • Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and dress code requirements in the production area. • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and maintain reliable attendance, especially during the temporary period. • Complete required paperwork and timekeeping accurately, including using the designated timecard system. Essential Skills • Experience with mixing, scaling, or batching in a production or manufacturing environment. • Strong basic math skills to accurately measure, weigh, and scale ingredients and materials. • Prior production or manufacturing experience, particularly in a food-related environment. • Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions and batch records. • Capability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. • Reliability in attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team of 10+ people in mixing and scaling operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • No formal education required. • Willingness to learn operation of mixing machines and additional production equipment. • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with repetitive tasks. • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and consistency. • Ability to follow safety procedures and adhere to production area rules and guidelines. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing and food production facility, working on dedicated mixing and scaling lines with a team of 10+ colleagues. Shift options include first shift (5:00 am to 1:30 pm), second shift (1:00 pm to 9:30 pm), and third shift (9:00 pm to 5:30 am), with third shift typically running Sunday night through Friday morning. The role involves continuous lifting of 50 to 75 pounds and standing for most of the shift in a production area. You must wear scrubs provided over your street clothes, along with a clean t-shirt, jeans, and non-slip, oil-resistant shoes. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and reliability, with clear expectations for on-time arrival and consistent attendance. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
